The Challenge: "J." had a congenitally missing front lateral tooth. This is a condition where a permanent tooth does not develop. The other lateral tooth was undersized, a condition referred to as a "peg-lateral". Orthodontic treatment resulted in creating optimal alignment of the teeth. "J." and his mother wanted to fill in the missing tooth and make the "skinny" tooth look more normal. The Solution: I restored the missing tooth with an all-ceramic crown over a dental implant. I matched the "peg-lateral" to the implant crown by veneering that tooth. These results were completed in two appointments. "J." said his new smile made him look more like a man and less like a boy. Dental implants are the ideal way to replace a missing teeth.
For over 40 years, dental implants have proven to be extremely reliable. Implants do not depend on natural teeth for support. Implant restorations CANNOT get decay and they do not hurt to have placed.
Dr. Mahlin completed the last step of attaching an implant tooth yesterday. This was after a multi-month process of having four crowns attached over multiple visits.
I would not have completed any of this dental work without the outstanding care and compassion of Dr. Mahlin and his staff. I had developed an extreme fear of any dental procedures and have avoided the dentist for over 30 years.
Dr. Mahlin and staff explained what dental work I needed and developed a plan on how to complete the work.
Getting me into a dentist chair is not easy . But Dr. Mahlin and staff made me as comfortable as possible and explained each step along the way. I now plan to follow good dental hygiene with routine future visits.
I would recommend Clarkson Dental Group to anyone with dental anxiety. Dr. Mahlin and staff have experience with dental anxiety and provide professional care with outstanding coaching.
I am lucky to have found this dental group, and thank Dr. Mahlin and each member of his staff for walking me through this process.
