The Invisalign Treatment Process

Dr. Mahlin will create a comprehensive Invisalign treatment plan to meet your unique needs and fit your lifestyle. We recommend that patients wear their aligners for at least 22 hours each day. Typically, Dr. Mahlin will ask that you wear each set of aligners for one or two weeks, and then you can switch to the next sequence until your treatment is complete.

Remember, the key to achieving your dream smile with Invisalign is to wear the aligners as Dr. Mahline prescribes. The more you remove your aligners, the longer your treatment will last. 

You may remove your aligners to eat, drink, or brush your teeth, but remember to wear them consistently to achieve optimal results.

You can gently clean your aligners with soap and water but do not use hot water, or it can damage them.  If you prefer to use a mild cleanser designed for clear aligners, Dr. Mahlin can offer you some suggestions. It’s best to avoid having your aligners in the heat, as they can warp and fail to fit your teeth correctly. 

Once your treatment is complete and you’ve achieved the smile of your dreams, you must wear retainers to preserve your new smile. Wearing a retainer will help you keep your teeth in place so that they don’t drift back into misalignment.
