Welcome to Clarkson Dental Group, the Chesterfield, MO dental practice of Dr. Scott Mahlin and his team. We have been providing state-of-the-art dental care to St. Louis and West County for over 30 years. Our entire team is dedicated to providing exceptional preventive, general, sedation, restorative, and cosmetic dental care in a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere.
Clarkson Dental Group is a smaller dental practice by design. Our goal is to provide a family-friendly vibe with a personal touch—as well as all the professional expertise you would expect at your dentist. Dr. Mahlin and his highly trained dental team cater to patients who expect quality dentistry along with a more personalized level of attention. Dr. Scott Mahlin, DDS, MAGD, FICOI
Chesterfield native Dr. Scott Mahlin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at St. Louis University. He went on to earn a DDS at the University of Missouri at Kansas City; he did a sedation residency at the University of Alabama. His continuing education includes:
- Misch International Implant Institute—Surgical Implant Fellowship
- Misch International Implant Institute—Prosthetic Implant Fellowship
- Academy of General Dentistry—MAGD Mastership (MAGD), which is attained by less than 2 percent of general dentists
- International Congress of Oral Implantologists Fellowship (FICOI)
About his work, Dr. Mahlin says, “I understand that dental care is a very personal issue, and every patient has chosen us as their family dentist for reasons that are important to them. We promise to strive to always be our best and ultimately earn lifetime trust. We love building relationships and treat everyone as part of the Clarkson Dental Group family.
Outside the practice, Dr. Mahlin enjoys spending time with his family, taking walks, dining out, and staying active. Patients are likely to spot him walking around town or enjoying a meal at one of the many local restaurants.
Caleb
Office Manager
With Clarkson Dental Group since 2016, Caleb enjoys being part of a team that makes a difference in people’s lives. He says, “The relationships we build with our patients are incredible, and we truly do treat everyone as if they were a family member.”
When he’s not working, this St. Louis native enjoys fishing, swimming, and spending time with his wife and two children. These Cardinals fans love attending games downtown as well as visiting the St. Louis Zoo.
Kim
Registered Dental Hygienist
Kim has been with Clarkson Dental Group since the very start of her career, 21 years ago. She's a graduate of the Dental Hygiene Program at STLCC-Forest Park, and over the years she's become a familiar, friendly face for patients, many of whom she's built relationships with over decades of visits.
Kim brings a team-player attitude to everything she does, offering positive support to both patients and staff alike. What she loves most about her job is helping people improve their overall health and well-being through good oral health, and she takes pride in providing exceptional care at every visit. For Kim, dentistry has always been about more than teeth; it's about caring for people and improving their quality of life.
Outside the office, Kim stays active with yoga, Pilates, hiking, pickleball, and golf. She's also an avid audiobook listener, using them both for fun and to keep learning, and she loves catching live music and comedy shows. One hobby that's uniquely hers: building Legos.
Fun fact: frogs are Kim's favorite animal.
Stephanie
Registered Dental Hygienist
Stephanie has been working in dentistry since 1999 and joined the Clarkson Dental Group team in 2026. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in St. Louis before going on to become a Registered Dental Hygienist there as well.
Stephanie's approach to patient care is all about being gentle and thorough. She takes the time to educate patients on how to improve their oral health, without ever being critical or judgmental about where they're starting from. She loves working in an environment that allows her to provide the best dental care possible, and she especially enjoys being part of a team that's supportive, friendly, and welcoming.
What drew Stephanie to dentistry in the first place is refreshingly simple: she likes teeth. That straightforward passion has carried her through more than two decades in the field.
Outside the office, Stephanie loves traveling, gardening, hiking, and walking her dog, Scooby. One hobby that's truly her own: she cans green beans and salsa made from vegetables grown right in her own garden.
Fun fact: Stephanie is left-handed
Pat
Dental Assistant
This St. Louis native has been with Clarkson Dental Group for 16 years, where she loves working with the amazing patients and team. Pat went to Saint Louis Community College – Forest Park for dental assistant training.
When she isn’t working or spending time with her family, Pat might be horseback riding or painting.
Lynne
Front Office
Lynne grew up in the Ballwin/Chesterfield area. She has been in dentistry for over 40 years. Ten years ago she moved to the country so she could pursue her dream of having a petting zoo. She has raised nigerian dwarf goats, turkeys, chickens, dogs and cats. I enjoy reading, gardening, baking, crafts and spending time with family and friends.
Becky
Dental Assistant
Becky brings an impressive 28 years of dental industry experience to the Clarkson Dental Group Team. She was trained on the job early in her career and has kept her skills sharp ever since through ongoing continuing education, staying up to date with the latest in dental care.
For Becky, the best part of the job is getting to know her patients. She loves talking with them and helping them feel relaxed and comfortable, especially those who come in feeling nervous about dental work. Helping people move past their fear of the dentist is one of her favorite parts of the job, right alongside the sense of teamwork she shares with her coworkers. She's quick to help wherever she's needed to make sure the whole team runs smoothly, and she counts herself lucky to work alongside a doctor as kind and gentle as Dr. Mahlin.
Dentistry wasn't Becky's first path; it's something she always wanted to do but didn't pursue until later in life. Looking back, it's clear it was the right call.
Outside the office, Becky and her husband love to travel, and she cherishes time spent with their kids and grandkids. She recently started volunteering with Special Olympics, which she describes as a truly great experience.
A few fun facts: Becky played field hockey in high school, and one summer she worked aboard The Admiral, a cruise boat that ran along the Mississippi River. She also comes from a family with deep roots in law enforcement; her dad, father-in-law, husband, son, and brother-in-law have all served as police officers.
Everyone was more than kind. Follow up was top notch. Superior service. Procedures well explained. Would highly recommend this practice especially if you are frightened of dental care.
