The Challenge: "M" had lost several teeth at an early age and never had the opportunity to replace them or to have Orthodontic treatment. Over the years, "M's" teeth had drifted and severe overlapping had resulted. "M" wanted to "straighten out" his smile. The Solution: To get an optimally attractive result, Orthodontic treatment was undertaken. In the process, a space was opened up to allow us to replace the missing tooth up front. Then a dental implant was placed in that location. We whitened "M's" teeth and I constructed an all-ceramic crown for the implant to complete our "smile make-over". Dental implants are the ideal way to replace a missing teeth.
For over 40 years, dental implants have proven to be extremely reliable. Implants do not depend on natural teeth for support. Implant restorations CANNOT get decay. Dental implants are NOT like orthopedic implants (artificial hips and knees) in that patients say they are virtually pain-free during and after their placement.
Dr. Mahlin completed the last step of attaching an implant tooth yesterday. This was after a multi-month process of having four crowns attached over multiple visits.
