When I first met this patient, he was struggling with his oral health, which was negatively affecting his quality of life. He was embarrassed by his smile, and because of this, his self-confidence was waning. I hated to see this because he has a contagious, fun personality; he wanted to regain his youthful smile and restore his oral health. So, together, we discussed a treatment plan to help him do just that.

The Treatment Process and Remarkable Results
I began this smile transformation by recommending in-office IV moderate sedation. The patient complained of severe dental anxiety, and I wanted him to be completely comfortable during his procedures.
My next step was to perform a deep scaling and root planing (SRP), a periodontal treatment necessary to eliminate and control the harmful bacteria causing a severe inflammatory response.
When gum tissue is bleeding and inflamed, it’s a sign of gingivitis, the first stage of periodontal disease. When gingivitis is left untreated, it worsens and becomes advanced periodontitis. This leads to bone loss, so I needed to control the situation before the patient suffered from tooth loss.
Once I completed the periodontal treatment, I eliminated the patient’s tooth decay before placing several cosmetic eMax dental crowns. These all-ceramic dental crowns are the most translucent in color, so they closely mimic natural teeth. The eMax crowns are incredibly strong and durable, so the patient can enjoy his new smile for many years. Also, eMax crowns contain no metal, so there’s no risk of an allergic reaction.
When the patient saw his new smile, he was overjoyed and couldn’t stop looking in the mirror. I hope this process helped him regain his former confidence and vigor.
