Initial Appointment

Commonly called a check-up, our initial dental appointment allows you, the patient, to get acquainted with Dr. Boyle and our staff. It also serves to allow us to better know you, learn of any dental concerns you may have, and familiarize ourselves with your overall oral well-being.

Our assessment of your oral health consists of a complete examination of oral soft tissue and teeth, including the radiographs (x-rays) necessary to make a thorough diagnosis, a periodontal (gum) disease screening and an oral cancer examination. Generally, a thorough cleaning of your teeth is performed at this appointment. After these initial evaluations are made, we will discuss the findings and any recommended treatment options.

The objective of this first appointment is to create a treatment plan for you that optimizes oral and dental health, while also meeting any goals you may have regarding cosmetic improvements.
