Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic material, which are bonded to the front (lip-side) surface of teeth. This procedure can be ideal for improving the appearance of front teeth. Veneers are utilized to mask out discolorations and internal stains, brighten teeth, straighten crooked teeth, fill in gaps between teeth, fix chipped or worn teeth, and generally improve a smile. Highly resistant to permanent staining from coffee, tea, or even smoke, the wafer-thin veneers achieve a tenacious bond to the tooth.
